Foundation Classes

To begin the program, there needs to be a foundational knowledge that clients can build upon.  There will be In-Person Baseball and Strength and Conditioning Metrics so we can set realistic and attainable goals.  These numbers will be our baseline and give each client a understanding of the progress needed over time.

The Foundations of Baseball Development

Along with the metrics, we will have 5 1-2 hour classes:

Class 1~ Nutrition, sleep and hydration

Class 2~ Workouts, anatomy and injuries

Class 3~ College Recruiting Process and selecting the right fit

Class 4~ Psychology, mindset and competitiveness

Class 5~ Academics, baseball IQ and how to be a good teammate

Class 1

Nutrition, sleep and hydration are not aspects of life that most high school athletes are focused on yet.  But these aspects of life are the most instrumental in physical and mental development.  I have had 1000's of conversations with high school students and athletes and most have no idea how much each of these simple aspects of life can impact their goals.

Class 2

Strength and conditioning, understanding anatomy and preventing injuries is a integral part of baseball development.  How do I stay healthy and on the field?  Why is this part of my body sore after I play a game?  What is this ligament my coach keeps talking about protecting?  Clients will get a baseline knowledge of anatomy and the routines they should be doing consistently to prevent injuries.

Class 3

How do I get seen by coaches?  OTDC will give a understanding of what college coaches want in their athletes and set realistic goals.  We will also take a deep dive on the divisions of college athletics and conferences and make sure that the school you want is the right fit academically and socially.

Class 4

Understanding psychology, mindset and competitiveness is something that will benefit all athletes.  We will research some of the top minds in baseball and other competitive fields to see how they think and how we can apply it to individual situations throughout a game, training and every other aspect of life.

Class 5

Academics should be any high school athletes first priority.  OTDC helps train habits and routines to make sure that academics are a focal point through the high school journey.  Part of the academic piece is also baseball IQ, OTDC will teach clients how to look through a critical lens and learn from professional athletes and how to be ready for any in game situation.  The last piece is how to be a good teammate, which is one of the toughest topics to learn.  Baseball is a team sport but highly individual in nature, how do I become the best teammate possible, especially when things are not going my way.
